SLRP First Communicants 2015

Sis. Dolly Calugas and Fr. Elvis, Sch. P  with the first communicants

Last February 14, Valentine’s Day, thirteen young children were greatly blessed with God’s love when they received their first Holy Communion. Seven girls and six boys, the products of our Sunday School program, trooped to our parish church for the formal ceremony, officiated by Rev. Fr. Elvis, a priest from the Order of Poor Clerics Regular of the Mother of God of the Pious Schools, or Piarists.

In preparation for this momentous event, the children were baptized last January 31 after which they had their Recollection given by Sis. Dolly Calugas and Sis. Pilar Perez, both from the Sororum  Reginae Apostolorum (SRA) or the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Queen of Apostles. The parents of the communicants also attended their own recollection conducted by Sis. Dolly Calugas. On February 7, the communicants had their first confession in preparation for their big day.
