First UBAS Talks Held Last February

Last February 18,  the first Ugnayan Barangay at Simbahan (UBAS) was held at the St. Joseph Hall. Representatives from Barangay Culiat , led by Bgy. Capt. Vic Bernardo and  Kgd Jose Pael, and SLRP, led by Father JB Abellana and PPC Chaircouple Kuya Tony and Ate Lina Feliciano, met in an informal and cordial atmosphere to discuss collaborative opportunities between the barangay and the parishioners.

During this initial talk, topics ranged from information dissemination about the barangay, its projects, budgets, etc. Issues on peace and order, security, joint newsletter publication, barangay transparency reporting, skills profiling and job placements, were discussed.

Among the fruits of this meeting were: (1) the agreement that the barangay will publish its quarterly performance through a joint newsletter with the SLRP MMM , and (2) the assistance by the barangay in providing a tanod, on a 50-50 sharing arrangement with the parish for an additional security guard at the Tierra Verde gate, subject to the concurrence of the Tierra Verde 1 Board.

This meeting was then followed by a second meeting held last March 4, where the details of the joint newsletter project were discussed. Representing the Barangay were Kgd Cristina Bernardino and Administrator Esteban Viesca while for SLRP, Father JB Abellana, Kuya Tony and Ate Lina Feliciano, Kuya Al Yap, Ate Josie Cruz, Ate Bel Geronimo and Ate Cora Pangyarihan.
